The Birthplace of the Hydrogen Economy -- The Future of Transportation Today

On July 22, 2011 at 1:15 pm, Vision Motor Corp hosted a Kick Off event titled “The Birthplace of the Hydrogen Economy -- the Future of Transportation Today." This historic event commemorated the delivery of the first Vision Motor Corp’s Zero Emission Hydrogen Fuel Cell-Electric Class 8 Heavy-Duty-Truck.

At this event Vision handed over the keys to Total Transportation Services Inc. (TTSI) who drove off and tested Vision Motor Corp’s zero emission truck in real world revenue service, in and around the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach, as the Ports become “The Birthplace of the Hydrogen Economy".

This test project is funded jointly by Vision and the Ports of Long Beach and Los Angeles through the Technology Advancement Program (TAP). Guests included Assembly members Warren T. Furutani, Betsy Butler, Bonnie Lowenthal, and the mayors of Los Angeles and Long Beach. Other guests from CARB, SCAQMD, CEC and the U.S. Department of Energy were invited. The Kick-Off event was held at Vision’s R&D Facility (130 Eucalyptus Drive, El Segundo CA 90245) at 1:15 PM.
